Ginga Studios (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates Ember, a mobile application designed to help couples explore relationship questions through an infinite scroll experience with multiple difficulty levels.

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use Ember. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Ember is intended for users aged 16+ (or 17+/18+ depending on local legal requirements) due to the nature of the relationship-focused content.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Ember is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect:

  • Names
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Profile photos
  • User accounts or login credentials
  • Chat messages or personal conversations
  • Uploaded images, videos, or files
  • Precise or approximate location data
  • GPS data
  • Contacts or address book data

Users can access Ember without creating an account.

3. Anonymous Usage Data & Analytics

We collect limited anonymous analytics to improve app quality, onboarding, and user experience.

This data:

  • Does not identify you personally
  • Is not linked to a name, email, or account
  • Is used only for internal product improvement

Examples of anonymous data may include app feature usage patterns, navigation flow, app performance metrics, and onboarding completion rates.

Anonymous analytics related to onboarding and usage are stored in a Turso SQLite database.

4. Crash Reporting & Diagnostics

We use third-party error monitoring tools (such as Crashlytics / Sentry) to detect and fix bugs.

These services may collect:

  • Crash logs
  • App version
  • Device model
  • Operating system version
  • General technical diagnostics

This data is used only for stability, debugging, and performance improvements, and not for advertising or profiling.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Ember offers premium subscriptions, including monthly and annual plans. A free trial may be available depending on your region.

Payments are handled by:

  • Apple In-App Purchases (iOS)
  • Google Play Billing (Android)
  • RevenueCat (subscription management)

We do not store or process payment card details. Billing data is managed securely by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under their own privacy policies.

RevenueCat may process anonymous device identifiers strictly for subscription validation, purchase restoration, and entitlement management.

6. Advertising & Tracking

  • We do not display ads
  • We do not use ad networks
  • We do not track users across apps or websites
  • We do not sell user data
  • We do not create marketing or behavioral profiles

Any analytics collected is anonymous and used only to improve product experience.

7. User Content

Users cannot upload content to Ember. No text, photos, audio, video, or files can be submitted. All questions displayed in Ember are preloaded locally in the app.

8. Artificial Intelligence & Data Processing

  • Ember does not process user content with AI
  • Ember does not send personal data to AI services
  • Ember does not train machine learning models on user data

9. Location & Device Data

We do not collect GPS or approximate location data. Limited non-identifiable device information may be collected only for crash reporting, subscription validation, and technical diagnostics.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data, including secure backend storage, encrypted transmission where applicable, and restricted internal access.

While no system is completely secure, we take privacy protection seriously.

11. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics and diagnostic data are retained only as long as necessary to improve functionality, fix issues, and maintain performance. No personal identity data is retained because none is collected.

12. Children’s Privacy

Ember is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR — EU)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to request access, deletion, restriction of processing, object to processing, and lodge complaints with a data protection authority.

Since Ember does not collect personal identity data, most requests will result in confirmation that no personal data is stored.

14. Third-Party Services

  • RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management
  • Apple App Store — payment processing
  • Google Play Store — payment processing
  • Crashlytics / Sentry — crash and performance monitoring

15. International Users

Your data may be processed outside your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable privacy laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted in the app or on official distribution pages.
